School has started at SP Kennel. Grab your laptop or tablet and get a front row seat in our virtual classroom. We enjoy what we do and we learn by constant exploration and adventure. Please join us starting in September 2020 for a weekly Husky Homeroom Lesson. Video Lessons are at the bottom of this page.

Whether students live in Alaska or somewhere very far away, we invite all to come learn alongside some of the most amazing dogs in the world: Alaskan Huskies.

With the dogs’ assistance, students will become explorers and look at the science behind Arctic animals and the incredible Alaskan wilderness in which these animals survive. Students will discover the skills necessary to keep the dogs, as well as themselves, healthy and happy. Students will also incorporate math and fitness into lessons that focus on adventure, racing and competition.

WHY start a virtual educational program?

WHY start a virtual educational program? The Alaskan community and the Dog Mushing and Iditarod Fan Base around the world has been extremely good to Aliy Zirkle and Allen Moore over the years. The never ending cheer and enthusiasm during the ‘good times’, as well as the support and well wishes during the ‘bad times’, have always been overwhelming. Aliy and Allen can never fully repay their fans, supporters and sponsors for the positive energy that they have used for their personal motivation and inspiration. One small way to repay the community’s kindness was to teach educational programs and visit schools throughout Alaska and around the world. For over ten years, Aliy and Allen traveled to schools and hosted educational assemblies and lessons that were fun and interactive. These lessons were in science, math, healthy lifestyles and fitness and always revolved around their beloved Alaskan Husky and the many adventures mushers and dogs enjoy together. Now in the year 2020, much of the educational world is dependent on virtual learning. Therefore, the construction of Husky Homeroom at SP Kennel has become the perfect solution to the virtual classroom. This way, Aliy and Allen can continue to host assemblies and educational programs that are fun and educational in which students can explore and learn in a positive and upbeat virtual setting.
