Science & Dog Anatomy

Introduction

Tell your students that they will have fun learning about the structural body differences between dogs and humans. They will meet two very special dogs who will show them how different we really are! We will examine adaptations of dog anatomy over time and see how natural selection created the amazing canines that we know and love today.

Learning Objectives

Students will identify body structures that function to support survival, growth and behaviors of dogs. Students will make sense of why animal adaptations occur and what the consequences would be to a species that does not evolve.
