Iron Creek is a canine ‘Water Park’ only a few miles from SP Kennel.
Iron Creek is 3 miles from SP Kennel. It is really just a slough of the Chena River. The nickname comes from the tremendous amount of iron in the surrounding ground that colors the water and rocks bright orange. We train dog teams through Iron Creek throughout September and October in order to keep them cool. In the summertime, Iron Creek is a fun place to go play.
L-R: Tig, Spark and Lydia play; Spark envies Tig’s stick; Tig is done playing.
fun fun. wish I was there instead of sitting at a desk.
Lol…that Tig has some awesome privileges….riding on the ATV and all! Iron Creek appears to be aptly named for sure…we got some iron "orange" around here too! It's always nice to have a nearby creek for the pups to cool down in!! Love the pics….thanks again for sharing!
Ditto!
Love the scientific explanaton for water coloration, too!
What a gorgeous spot for hikes!
This looks like it was an incredible trip, and especially with being able to have the dog crew go with you. I personally think that Tig is just the greatest looking dog around. There is something about having a dog that is so playful and still knows when to call it good that just makes me want to get a lab myself, if that it what Tig is. Hopefully there will be more fun to be had in the near future. Thank you for sharing. http://www.tampapuppypalace.com/Boarding.html
