We pick up the action after the Team has rested in Ruby. They are heading down the mighty Yukon River, into the sunset, and obviously quite happy about it. Just before darkness fully sets in, they encounter a hazard which creates some apprehension in the movement of the dogs and in the voice of the musher.

Way cool video. I'm glad Aliy caught the water on the Yukon River. So awesome that she took the time in her race to give us a glimpse of what the mushers see.

What creates the open water when it is so cold outside? Very good video showing us the hazards as well as the beauty of the trail! This is such an amazing experience! Up until this point, we haven't been able to travel the Iditarod trail, but with Aliy's camera……Wow! Thanks so much!

The sunset was beautiful, but the view of the opening in the ice and the Yukon River was eery. I'm impressed with how the dogs stayed right on course, with Aliy encouraging them along the way.
Listening to you moving across the ice reminded me of when I first learned to ski. It took me forever to learn to ski when the slopes were icy. All I had to do was hear the sound of the ice beneath my skis and I would tense up and fall over!

We're really enjoying these videos out on the trail with Aliy and the team!! The open water really worries me, especially for Rookies that might be travelling at night and not see it…
