The team is back in Two Rivers after their adventure!
They flew NAC from Nome to Anchorage and were well taken care of by the staff and crew of the airline. The airline is experienced in moving dog teams around Alaska so they were in great hands.
Thanks to Linda, Wayne, Claire and JoAnne for greeting the team off the plane, packing all the kennels and sleds back into the truck and keeping them company until the human contingent made it back from Nome. It’s quite a major undertaking to get the team home from Nome and we thank everyone who made it not just possible, but safe and drama-free.
We are all glad to be home.
Do glad to see this. Safe and sound. Now let’s all stay that way!
WOOF WOOF WOOF
Now that was some amazing adventure – the only sport that we can recall that didn’t get sidelined by the pandemic!!!
It is snowing in Weston CT today in the Red Team’s honor!!!
CONGRATULATIONS SP KENNEL – WOOF WOOF WOOF thank you to all members of the support team!!!
So glad you are all HOME!!!!!! Now you can really relax for a bit….well deserved rest!
What a relief to have them home safe and sound. I notice some of them are doubled up in crates. Did they travel doubled up?
Glad to know y’all are home. Thanks to everyone who helped get the precious cargo home safely. I was pretty obsessed with watching the Elim 11 make their way to Nome! So glad they all made it safely there. Thanks for the pictures.
Everyone will get a well deserved rest Great team!!
Glad the terrific dogs are home and enjoying life at the kennel. Wondering if Allen and Aliy helped
get those 3 dog teams to Nome. Thanks to the SPK Crew for all you do!
Thank you for racing and staying in it against all odds. The team looked absolutely stellar in the chute; I always give that final sigh when the team is home.
Job well done and looking forward to next year. As Padee said, with our restrictions in living right now, too bad the racing season is over. It kept those of us who following sled dog racing distracted from all the scary news because we were watching sagas of danger and success is a totally different arena.
Rest well.
