Karolyn and her team left Two Rivers checkpoint at 8:22am after resting for just over five hours. She left with 11 team mates and is currently climbing, climbing, climbing…

As you heard – Champ has returned to the kennel.
Unfortunately his cold weather private-area issues have prevented him from continuing the race, as they did in the Copper Basin. Champ doesn’t have as much hair cover in that area as some of his other male team mates and despite wearing a stylish wolf-fur ruff to provide some protection Karolyn was concerned for him so thought it best to leave him behind.
He was still rearing to go by all accounts and I’m sure both he and Karolyn will be as bummed as each other that he has gone home.

Bummer Champ! The weather this year is getting in the way of you completing a race. Maybe the Iditarod will be in the cards for you. Big boy Mismo was ready to go….and the rest of the team too. Great News even tho Champ had to leave the team Karolyn is off and running! I thought the
weather would warm up a bit for the race start but not to be. The team looks full of spirit tho!

Champ….poor buddy! Until they devise an ultra warm heater for those down under areas I suppose 30 below and colder will bench ya…but it’s for your own good! Wow….again, bone chilling cold! LOVE the audio updates and great job on the video and pics!
