After a long night on Birch Creek, Allen and his mates pulled in to Central at 5:35am in third position. Their run time from Circle was 15 hours, 4 minutes and they took a 2.5 hour rest on the trail, just after half-way through the run. They will rest here a while before hitting the trail for the infamous Eagle Summit climb.
There to greet him was is 80-something year old Mom Donnie who made the trip up from Arkansas!
Awwww! What a treat! Mom’s always brighten up an outlook on things. Great run. Go Dawgs GO
Wow, I’m so glad Grandma Donnie made it up from Arkansas. I hope that made Central special for Allen after a long hard journey from Circle.
Rest up Black team, lots of hill to climb ahead.
Great reunion with Allen and his Mom! So sweet! Rest up for the big climb ahead! Fingers crossed the summit is kind to the Teams this year!
What a marvelous happening!!!
This is amazing – what a thrill to have this 3-generation “reunion” in of all places the run up to Eagle Summit . And don’t forget Rosebud (named after Citizen Kane famous last line?). WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!
I love that Allen’s Mom got to be there. That’s so heart-warming. There’s some longevity genes in that family. I think Allen has many more years of mushing ahead of him. Rest well Black team and regain energy for the climb.
Wow! What a special treat it must have been for Allen! Donnie is a real trooper at her age!
Your son has accomplished a lot!
Enjoy your stay and Run Dogs Run! Go Allen!
That is awesome! Hope Donnie is his good luck charm!!
Get a good rest, welcome to mom. Go Allen and SPK.
