14 awesome sled dogs…from beginning to end, in first place!! Allen is a master of dog care and race strategy….an amazing win!! I liked watching how Allen’s sled would be jam packed for the long hauls, then down to the bare nothing’s for the scamper to the finish! This was a well thought out race and perfectly executed. I am in awe of the accomplishment.
Thank you for the awesome visual diary of this amazing run. You do a great job keeping we armchair mushers informed and engaged. It is wonderful to see how happy the dogs appear at all times. They are clearly bred for and conditioned to do this type of racing. Go SPK!
I love seeing the wagging tails on all those incredible dogs. Well done Allen and team. This is a great video record – nicely done!
Loved the video! Congratulations, Allen. I’ve been watching SPK races from Kansas ever since I visited Mary-Beth a few years ago. 🙂
WOW!!!
Thanks ever so much for this amazing video assemblage. To glimpse the whole race as the Black Team enters and exits checkpoints was stunning. What determined bunch!!! PLUS the marvelous footage at Eagle!!!
What a unit!!! What a team, 2 and 4 legs and the crew – awesomeness personified.
WOOF WOOF WOOF
What a great compilation! Love seeing those happy doggies coming in and out of the stops. This was a fun race to watch! Thanks for sharing and keeping us up to date.
The trick to a great finish line picture with your lead dogs is to rattle the bucket of treats. Brilliant!
Now it’s on to the Iditarod. Good luck and happy trails to Red and Black teams.
Wow, over 4 minutes of grinning from ear to ear.
Congratulations again to Allen, Commando, Dutch, Spark, Kodiak, Clyde, Champ, Rodney, Five, Driver, Nomex, Junior, Chena, Felix and Violet.
Thank you Moira x 2, Bridgett, Jennifer and Scotty for an awesome video of the amazing SPK Black team’s trip on the Yukon Quest.
My heart feels like it could burst with pride.
WOW
Wooooop woooop!
They are magnificent! Thank you all – and congratulations!
What a great video record of one of the greatest teams ever to race the Yukon quest! This team will always be remembered. And let’s hear it for Nacho and Olivia! What outstanding breedings they have made!
Look at those dogs! 56 happy feet.
A triumph, SP Kennels, and special congrats to Allen.
Wow. Just wow. Is anyone else getting REALLY excited about this teams next race? See ya in Anchorage real soon!
Sweet! Great video Moira!! Everyone looked as enthusiastic in Whitehorse as they did in Fairbanks!!! Truly a testament to the care and training at SPK and the care and philosophy on the trail!!! So happy for all of you in this successful run. WELL DONE!
The Straw Ladies
That was a magical video! It was so fun to see all 14 dogs, looking happy, trotting by in every segment.
Thanks Moira for editing and posting this video of a fantastically planned race. Thanks to Bridgett, Scotty, and Jennifer for videoing some of the adventure. The crew did a great job handling the team on this race. Also thanks to Jeff for night duty at the lots. We so enjoyed following along on this quest!
What a great video! Those beautiful happy healthy dogs looked just as energetic at the end of the trail as they did at the beginning…..a testament to the loving care they get on and off the trail! Allen, a brilliant race!! Who could resist smiling at the dog sing? Now, next stop Nome!! Congratulations once again to all of you! Well done 🙂
This is so awesome! I’m so proud of this team it brought tears to my eyes watching it. Thanks for taking us along on this incredible journey.
OH MYYYYYY! (my dogs perked up when they heard the howls leaving Dawson – ha!) Thanks to Moira and everyone who helped with the video – it was wonderful. Allen – and Aliy – and all of the 2-legged ‘family’ at SPK who help take care of these fantastic 4-leggeds ….. to watch those dogs flying in to and out of checkpoints, even after hundreds of miles of trail….. what a beautiful and amazing site. It made me smile ear to ear. It’s a testimony to the love and care and training and conditioning (and years and years of experience, breeding, work, work, work…) you have going on with your 4-legged teammates. AGAIN! You have to have a really strong foundation to build this kind of team of capable, happy and healthy dogs over and over. A team most mushers dream of having. It’s great that it’s a first place finish but really, regardless of standings, to finish with all 14 dogs looking that strong and happy…THAT is a gift. Congratulations to all!
Congratulations to Allen, Commando, Dutch, Spark, Kodiak, Clyde, Champ, Rodney, Five, Driver, Nomex, Junior, Chena, Felix and Violet.
I am your newest fan from Florida. I look forward to continuing to follow you and your amazing team. It was great meeting you at the Copper Basin 300.
Spectacular video! It speaks to amazing athleticism, dog care and human/canine bonding. Allen only got a FEW questionable head turns on Eagle Summit. 😃 What a “Dream Team”!! It’s such a treat to get to see so much of the action into and out of check points. Confident, happy faces abound! At times the mighty stride of Commando is amazing to watch! Hopeful that many of these “Fearsome 14 ” are gonna look equally good in Red very soon!
Thank you for posting this cumulative video of this year’s race. Congratulations!!! Everyone in and healthy!!! Amazing—
Thank you for making this great video of the Black Team’s adventure in the Yukon Quest! It is amazing that Allen kept all 14 dogs on the team for the whole race. They are champions!
What an awesome, amazing team. Thanks so much, Moira for putting this together. Allen you truly are a superb musher.
