Clyde and Amber wonder why the grass is always greener…”

As well as going on walks, the SP Kennel dogs enjoy our three Play Pens during the off season. Usually they play in pairs; sometimes siblings or just good buddies. Yesterday, Chipper and Mismo were in the larger pen, Clyde and Amber were in the northern pen and Ginger and Ernie were in the front pen. We keep a schedule, so that everyone gets some fun time.

This morning we put Champ and Cayenne in the larger pen, Olivia and Woody in the northern pen and Biscuit and Wedgy in the front pen.

Woody and Olivia start a game of tag.

“You think you can catch me?”; “Really?”; “Nope!”

“I’m pretty sure that she was right here just seconds ago.”

  • Your play pens are clearly well used and loved.

It's great to see that just a few months shy of eight years, Olivia is the one trying to engage Woody, the three year old, in the game of chase.
Clearly her career choice as a sled dog has not soured her love for running at all!
Come on Woody, let's go, wohoo.
    LOL

  • Play is very important!!!

And your hard working, hard charging 4-legged team members deserve variety in their course of study:

Original Research Regarding How Dogs Learn Best (aka all work and no play makes…woof, woof, woof…a dull doggie). Love the craters in their yards – perhaps they are all budding Civil Engineers or geologists???

Thanks so much for this full post!!! Best regards,

  • Seeing the back yard where Cutter has claimed his "play" area, I think I am pretty sure why the grass is always greener elsewhere!

  • I love watching dogs run around and play….sounds like a lot of fun is being had at SP Kennel in the off season! Wow…those are some big holes in the pen!! Bet Chipper could hide out in one and ambush an unsuspecting play mate!

  • Awesome photos of the pups playing!! Thanks for sharing!! Poor Woody, I think Olivia should give him a "here I come" woof before zooming by. You'll get her next time buddy!!! Don't give up!!
