All is well back here at the kennel.
The young dogs, the retirees and I are enjoying the warmer temperatures… over 40 degrees in Two Rivers today! Dog naps all around.
The seven current house dogs are obsessively watching the GPS tracker over my shoulder and reminding me to hit “refresh” every 30 seconds.
Bullet wants to know who’s in lead and ChaCha keeps reminiscing about the “good old days” when she used to run Iditarod. She claims it was way harder back then. I just pat her head and say, “I know, Cha, you’re very tough,” and throw her another biscuit.
We all look forward to hearing the race dogs’ stories when they return (Champ, above, is particularly excited). I can just hear Mismo back in the dog yard, “I mean, it was a thousand miles, Champ, I’m kind of a big deal now. Maybe you should call me Mr. Mismo.”

Love the insight, thank you! Look out, though: "While Scout's away, the dogs will play…"
Haha
Ha! Love it! Way to hold down the fort young ones and retirees….and Meghan. I was wondering what goes on with those left at home. Now I know.
Your posts are always so soothing. You are a wise and funny woman. We love you all, the pups, the staff, the family, every single one, every single day, just exactly the way you are and in every circumstance. Thanks for this wonderful post. It cheered us immensely.
Ok, Mr. Mismo! We're all excited for your stories, especially the young ones. The retirees will all say "Yeah, yeah, we've been there." lol 🙂 Great job holding down the fort Meghan and pups, enjoy the fun before Officer Scout comes back! 🙂
SO CUTE.
Thank you Meghan!
🙂
Thanks, Meghan for a fun update from the kennel. It sure made me smile. And thanks for holding down "the fort ".
Aweee! Sweet dawgs! A heat wave up there after all that sub zero action, wow.
I keep meaning to mention my grand kids call me Cha Cha so she and I have something in common. HaHa my grandson came up with that when learning to talk at 2.
My female Siberian sings when Aliy gets the dogs in the yard going and I am watching a singing video clip, does not take much they run to the computer to see who is talking. I love when my two go to town, I join in too!!
Thanks Meghan, sure the will be happy when everyone is back home.
Best, Trish McAleer
Great perspective, thanks!
Funny, made me smile! Thanks for the posts!
Thank you Meghan for letting us "ease drop" on the dog yard. What fun! I believe every word – that's the mark of a wonderful storyteller. Good job!

Good to know the Kennel is in good hands…er… I mean paws!
Great post Meghan. Thanks for holding down the kennel, its a busy job! Cha Cha has a lot to be proud of she has great genes and lead them all well. Ditto to what Barb said. Tell that big girl Daisy its her turn next year. Still cant believe Chipper's success, and cant wait to see if Pepe slows down a bit after this race! lol. Thanks and good luck this summer!

Cha Cha's pups and her grand pup, Commando, might disagree with Cha Cha.

Good thing they have an excellent musher, Allen, taking care of them!
They should have some great stories of their own, when they get home
Hi Meghan! Very cute post and so glad you are holding down the fort. Hugs,
Cindy Eckhoff
Thank you for the great post, Meghan!!! The dawgs seem to be having a great time with you 'in lead'
Very peaceful and happy kennel!!! ❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾
I bet the Kennel goes wild when everyone returns!! Can't believe the swing in temps….but then again this IS the first day of spring after all!
Thanks for your wonderfully funny report! It is in the tradition of SP Kennel communication with its online fans!!!
– I can picture Rambler, who had been known to intrude during an Aliy Skype interview posted online here, putting a paw on your shoulder here in 2015!
– You know, ChaCha may be correct. I wouldn't cross her!!!

You gals are great. Thanks for all the fun comments, great pictures and video's along the trail and such and shhhh I used to make my dogs talk too LOL. I swear they spoke English too 😉
