What a day! We are so happy to have the team home, safe and sound, and so proud of Allen, Quito, Scout, Izzy, Chica, Sissy, Schmoe, Mac, Waylon, Chemo, Outlaw, Scooter, Nacho, Willie and Clyde. They really made a race of it at the end and gave us all an exciting finish.
Congratulations to Brent Sass and team Wild and Free! It was an extraordinary race!
Remember this picture from the start, way back almost ten days ago? What a lot has happened since then.
We’ll update you with pictures and stories tomorrow and for the days to come but right now we are sending everyone to bed. In the meantime, check out the Yukon Quest Website, the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer and the Whitehorse Daily Star, who have been following the race plus other media outlets such as Emily Schwing’s reports for KUAC and others.
Thank you so much for your support! We appreciate you and we’re happy you came on this journey with us.
Love you Black Team!!! Awesome performance, Allen!!!
It is 4:33am here in CT and I will take your advice and go to bed – if I have trouble falling asleep I'll just count doggies…

Congratulations to the SP kennel family for a great Quest. Second place in this competition is a super achievement. Now it's time to rest, eat those steaks and curl up in a pile of straw. Don't forget to post a story or two in the blog. It will tied us over until the Iditarod. Thanks for all your reporting to date. Thanks also to the Yukon Quest Race Committee for doing a great job with the web posts and the Fb page.
Thank you for putting up the other links. As I read through them and see other mushers' comments I am reminded to thank you Allen and Team SPK for running your race, exactly the way you did with great care and concern for all the team mates. You guys are awesome! What a great finish between two great mushers and kennels. Wishing all, especially dogs, a blissful, rejuvenating rest. Incredible to think some will "do it all again" in a few weeks with Aliy on the Red Team. Thanks for keeping the knowledge alive and adding on to it- the skill and art of dog mushing long distance.
Congratulations Allen Moore and dogs! It was a great exciting race!
