The Black Team are up and about; Mismo and Felix started a group howl and Outlaw barked for his dinner. They are looking fantastic.

Beemer looking oh-so-handsome, Felix is pretty pleased with himself

Bonita might be the sassiest in the yard and Fang the prettiest

Izzy does some doggy yoga; Lester is a tough-guy

Our Shetland pony Mismo is one of the “big dogs” now; Tug enjoys some well deserved rest

Rambler is a little camera shy; Outlaw not so much

Viper caught mid-wink; Aliy and Quito

Yes, you do count only 11 and Allen did finish with 12. I forgot to get a picture of Puppet tonight. She’s sleeping amongst the Red Team in a different part of the dog yard so I promise to post one of her tomorrow!

  • Thank you so much for the post. The dogs look so rested and healthy and happy.😍

Rambler looks a lot like Tatfish in that picture. Are they related?

Great picture of Aliy and Quito ⭐️☀️

  • Thanks so much for these up close and personal pix of the Black Team!!!

They indeed, the young dogs, have "come of age."

    Thanks again, lovely, snaps,

P.S. Quito gets a well deserved extra kiss from her musher

  • They are wonderful! I love how you caught glimpses of their different personalities! Love the one of Izzy and Outlaw!! You can tell they are loved puppies!!!

  • Great looking dogs – superstars one and all! Thanks for showing them and the update on who is being sassy and who is howling. They all had a tremendous adventure.

  • Oh what adorable dogs. They are each more fantastic then the other one(did not word that very well). Love each dog. The picture of Aliy kissingQuito is precious. Thanks for posting.

  • Downward facing dog, Izzy demonstrates how it got the name, LOL.
They all look so content, cozy, and happy to be with their SPK family.
    Thank you Moira!

  • Having just followed my first Iditarod, I am hooked for life! I admire those who run this race and face major obstacles along the way. After reading Sebastian's article and viewing Jeff Kings video, I have even more respect for all of you. I have to say that Aliy putting her dogs safety as well as her own FIRST makes her a winner in my book. Congratulations to all of you. The dogs are beautiful and I love seeing their personalities coming out in the photos. Keep them coming.
Looking forward to The Iditarod Unleashed on TV in the next few weeks.

  • The photo of Quito and Aliy says it all.The trust and love between them as they battled through hurricane force winds and white outs during the last leg into Nome was palatable and showed who the real champions were.Hey,how about memorializing that photo on coffee mugs. Sign me up to buy one. What a great way to start the day looking into that photo! Deb Foster

  • Awesome photos of the dogs – they are all such great athletes! Thanks so much for sharing them with their many faraway fans. I'm so happy to support SPK in some small way 🙂

  • Amen Sarah!
If anyone has missed it, you should check out Sebastian's article, "Responsible Racing."

Aliy, you are a champion to us and your dog team. They are such fortunate doggies.

  • Just a side note here – Did the serum Aliy started with make it to Nome? Did she pass it on or get to take it in herself?

  • Hope Aliy and Allen are rested as well and soaking their tired muscles, bruises and bumps. I wish I could kiss all the pups too!!

    Best, Trish McAleer
