A few of you have been asking about the “half-harness” and line system we use here at SP Kennel so here is a video Aliy made just before the Iditarod where she explains about the system we use and why it works for us:

I have been wanting to ask about the harnesses. Thanks for the video. I have Chinooks which have a bigger chest than Alaskans. Do you think the 1/2 harnesses would work with a larger chest? Are the clip rings one sided to the harness or does the whole harness just roll to the side the pull is from?

We have been using howling dog distance harnesses for awhile now and we wouldnt use anything else. they are awesome, how they fit and how they work is second to none.
Wow….thanks for the explanation…..I especially like the part about the need for individualism and freedom but yet that is part of being a Team…I totally get that and now I understand it from a sled dog perspective….very cool….THANKS!
Do you use this type of harness for breaking in young dogs? And how does it work in smaller teams or with heavy work?
I've been researching harnesses and you really helped explain them. Also, thanks for sharing the video. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for the video. So very interesting! Really enjoyed Aliy's explanation!
