The Blueberry Hills are nestled in between a frozen lagoon just north of the town of Unalakleet and a slough off to the southeast of the village of Shaktoolik. They lie along the coastline of Norton Sound in the Bering Sea. The ocean is visible when a dog team climbs to the top of one of the numerous steep hills.
The scenery is breathtaking most of the time, but was utterly amazing at sunset on a gorgeous winter evening such as this one:
Alyi, Your video was awesome. I can't imagine being on the back of a sled looking at this beautiful scenery. I met you and Allen on the train in Sept 2011 on our way to Denali with Princess Tours on our 1st trip to Alaska. It was so interesting to talk to you and it was that day I became interested in Dog Sledding!!! I have followed you both in The Iditarods and Quests ever since. You got me hooked! I read all I can about mushing and follow the SP Kennel facebook pages. We returned to Ak in 7/12; are coming back for a 3rd time in 9/14. BUT!!! My friend and I are coming to see the Iditarod in Anchorage in 2015!!!! We are looking into volunteering in some way. We are from Buffalo NY. Keep Mushing Aliy – we are enjoying following you!!

That is just too cool! Gorgeous!! I love seeing the dogs in their element….moving right along……wonder if they notice the awesome scenery too!
Once again, thank you so much Aliy, for sharing you trip with us! Simply fabulous. You and your dogs are awesome!!
Is that Boondocks running next to Mac?!?!?!?… Hilarious!
I love your commentary and especially watching the dogs and the scenery is a added attraction! Thank you once again for the ride. Boondocks sure can run with those short little legs, what an athlete!
What an amazing beauty! And, you share all that beauty with your awesome dogs, and they with you! Wonderful bond!Thank you for sharing Aliy!
From the Fats Domino song…..this truly fits the video!!
I found my thrill
On Blueberry Hill
On Blueberry Hill
When I found you
The moon stood still
On Blueberry Hill
And lingered until My dream came true
The wind in the willow played Love's sweet melody……
