It was pretty chaotic in the finishing chute tonight but here are the best bits.
We’re all off to bed now for a while; more to come tomorrow! THANK YOU being right there with us, we appreciate your support! Go Black Team!

So proud of you Aliy…wish I could have been there cheering you into Nome (I was there in spirit, though). Thanks for taking us along on the ride!

A huge congratulations to Aliy and team!!! What an awesome video – it brought tears to my eyes, After 9 days in grueling conditions Aliy is smiling and the dogs were wagging their tails! I appreciate all the updates this team provided for the fans and I am so impressed with how much love and care these dogs receive – truly impressive all around and thank you!
Again, awesome race Aliy! You are the best! Thanks for the updates from your crew. Now, I CANT wait to read your write-up! I totally admit I was disappointed for you, but again, your class and attitude teach us all, it's how you run the race, not just winning it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! <3
Dogs looked fantastic! Congrats Aliy!
Sindy
Awesome race, Aliy! You are a crowd favorite and your year for first place is coming! So proud of you for how you train and race your dogs.
Way to go Aliy! So proud of you and Team Red!
WOW!!! What a great race. Did you see the dogs "prancing" across the finish line! What a sight to see. Great job to all the SP Kennel crew.
First, Second, ….. Whatev'…. Aliy you absolutely ROCKED IT! Watching you with Quito leading the way in to Nome brought me to tears……tears of JOY and HAPPINESS for a job well done! You gave it your all and left nothing on the table. Gal, you are such an inspiration and role model for ALL of us, young and old alike, of what TRUE courage, strength, perseverance, discipline, integrity, kindness, and a profound love of your dogs and your sport mean and looks like in action…..all done with such a positive attitude, humbleness, grace, generosity, and that beautiful Aliy smile we've all come to know and love.
Get some well deserved rest, good food, more rest……..and KNOW that you are making a difference in people's lives around the world! We love you Aliy….and Quito, Beemer and team! Your die-hard, devoted fans, Debbi & David Robinson, Spruce Pine, NC
Congratulations — such an amazing accomplishment. You're an inspiration!
What bright-eyed dogs–they look about ready to do it again! Great finish!
It is so moving (no pun intended) to have watched the Red Team race in Iditarod #41, a culmination of what has been a most remarkable season – lack of snow cover in parts of Alaska, yet SP Kennel kept their training up and brought all of its supporters right inside Two Rivers to truly invest in the mushing experience, even it we are continents apart! I once thought there wouldn't be anything better than reading Aliy's written stories of Iditarod, published online for all to see, months after the event. I still hope to know the full story of this amazing race in 2013.
To Moira and Meghan and all the others supporting the Red and Black Teams, my thanks for a magnificent performance in 2013!
Absolutely wonderful! Many congratulations Aliy and pups! As well as the SPK support crew, and to Allen for his support of Aliy!!!
YUO ARE ALL WINNERS!!!!!
TRUE WINNERS!!!!!
Wonderful video! Aliy and the dogs all look great!! What a beautiful team. Congratulations Aliy on a great job!!
Now that is what I call a race!! Well down Aliy and the guys. Next year will be yours. You did wonderful. Dogs looked really good coming in. Alert and bright. You do take good care of your team!!!
Aliy all I can say is Well Done. You are an inspiration to the race. You are one of the great women of the sport. Susan Butcher, Dee Dee, Libby Riddles, and YOu. That is a pretty good group to be associated with.
Gongrats. Tight Lines! Chris K
Congrats especially to "MacDaddy" on completing his first Iditarod – this is very special.
Congratulations Aliy! So happy for you. Go ALLEN! I'm the gal who took you around Kodiak last August. Would love to visit you all and the kennel one day! WAY TO GO! Horizon Lines Kodiak is very proud of you both! Theresa Heyerdahl
Well done, Aliy!!!! Your dogs will thank you for many happy healthy years to come. You never made them feel like this was a contest with a winner and loser. It was felt through your hands, your heart and through your high-spirited dog leader, Quito. Hopefully, this kind of cooperative spirit is something we can all take lessons from as we go about our day. Thank you for sharing what you love doing and what it all offers to your human family and dog family. As you aptly put it, GOOD DOGS!!!!!!!

Quito looked so proud crossing the line. What a lovely dog team and great musher.
Thank you SP folks for the wonderful video, pictures, information and updates throughout the race!It was awesome!
Great Race, Exciting watching, wish I was there in the croud cheering you on Aliy. You gave it your all and we are proud of the job you and the dogs did.
Had a wonderful evening meeting your dogs, you & Allen at the Clarion. First time to Alaska- watching you start the great race and then going to mushing school ( first timers) with my 29 yr old daughter We only went 60 miles in two days but You were my wings beneath my sled.
Congratulations to you and your dogs! Also your support team. I live in Dallas, TX, and never really followed the race closely. This year I started tracking everyday at about midway through the race and picked you as my team to cheer for and follow. It looked tough about 5 check points back from Nome when the speed dropped, but you finished strong! The best way to finish. Congratulations again! Also, my husky, Snow, says Congrats too!

Congratulations, Aliy! You did it again. You and Allen have a fantastic kennel. Whose other dogs placed second this year and last year in the Iditarod, placed second in the Yukon Quest, and then won the Yukon Quest?
I am very proud of your and Allen's accomplishments. You both are great ambassadors for the sport.
Thanks Home Team for the videos, the updates, and the contests. You did a fantastic job as always.
Special hug and treat to the dog that deserves the Golden Harness again. There truly is no Quit in Quito!
A special hug and treat also to the Rookie of the Year Dog – Mac. What an awesome dog!
Again, congratulations!
Love waking up to you on Yahoo this morning, Aliy!! You and Mitch, such a grand representation of real sportsmanship.
Yes, go, go and stop, stop 🙂 SPKennel, come on Allen, go go and all of you can stop and rest!
Yea!
I whole heartedly agree with Deb, watching Quito proudly charging the finish line in Nome leading her team mates brought tears to my eyes. I was so happy and so proud of you all. You are such a inspiration and role model you should absolutely be the poster child of the Iditarod! Your love for your dogs and the sport are un-measureable! Aly, you were over come by all the fan support in Nome almost to the point of being in shock. I'm here to say its ten fold all around the world because your personality is astounding in evert trait there is to measure right down to your ALY smile! I understand why your team is so dedicated and so professional and that is because of their leader! We all love you! And thank you for everything! You not only took the silver you are the REAL winner. I not only want to see a book, I want to see a television documentary, no on second thought I think a movie is more appropriate!
Aliy,
Congratulations – well run race. Followed you all the way – am looking forward to next year's race
It's amazing how Quito is so unfazed by the crowds and excitement. I remember a video a few years back when you were trying to get Rose to keep from sightseeing and getting people to pet her. This team was focused. I assume it is because Quito was focused…her leader said straight ahead and she did just that.
I've watched this video over and over just to see Quito. What a dog. Golden Harness award in my book. Good dog, Quito.
Congratulations on a wonderful race. Aliy, I don't think I got much sleep. I kept waking up to check on you and urge you and your dogs on mentally, especially in the last several days of the race.
Can't wait to hear more about the race…will await your trail stories…
This is the first Iditarod that I followed from start to finish – all the mushers and dogs are wonderful – however, you and your husband particularly stand out – Congratulations – Congratulations and good races for both of you.
