The Denali Express is Princess Cruises’ sightseeing train that transports tourists from the cruise ship port of Whittier, Alaska to the railroad station at Denali National Park. Since late May, Aliy and Allen have been entertaining folks aboard this train with stories of their mushing lifestyle and their racing adventures. Their last train presentation for this year is next week, September 19, the last day of summer tourist season. By then they will have introduced the sport of dog mushing to almost 20,000 visitors from all over the world.
Here are a few pictures of our SP Kennel mushers on the Denali Express, acting as ambassadors for the sport of dog mushing.

Allen is a natural storyteller. The tale of his dog team’s encounter with a red fox on the Yukon Quest trail elicits wonder. |

Wow that is impressive!
My brother and sister in law meet Aliy on the train this past July. They enjoyed meeting SP kennel and hearing about life in Alaska. I got an autograph and got to hear all the fun stories from them. Great work spreading the news about SP kennel after all the train trips how did you have time for all that walking with the dogs in the Study?

Re: the tour guide role…great story – and a terrific service to the profession of mushing, IMO.

Woof!!!
You know what? Just a couple of years ago people who didn't know this couple personally knew Aliy and, um, you-know, that middle distance musher she married.
Today, it ain't just the locals. EVERYONE knows Aliy and Allen as equals in the SP team, and that ROCKS.
Agree, Swanny!
