During Iditarod 2012, Aliy was contending to win. Yet, she still wanted to share the amazing Iditarod Trail with family, friends and fans. Hopefully, the 2012 “Aliy Cam” showed the SP Kennel Red Team as they truly were …
… an incredibly hard working, dedicated union of dogs and human. This bond between dog and human is hard to describe and sometimes hard to understand. Dog is truly man’s best friend, but the dedication and determination that these SP Kennel dogs have towards their musher is “over the top”. We at SP Kennel, appreciate this dedication and hold it close to our hearts. Not just any individual could do what the Red Team did. They are a special breed of athletic, competitive spirits that simply never give up and want to compete.
The Iditarod Trail was a great adventure for our Alaskan Huskys as well as our musher. We hope you enjoyed a glimpse of it with 2012 “Aliy Cam”!
Aliy – there are no words that can thank you enough for taking the time and the energy to allow us to see a part of this great race from your vantage point.
Thank you!
Once again, you guys are just awesome!
Loved the Aliy cam series – thanks so very much for taking the time to shoot them and put them up on the Dog Log. What a fantastic racing season for SP Kennel! Will patiently await your trail notes and hope for news of puppies too. Relax a bit and enjoy the off season – you, Allen and the awesome canine athletes definitely deserve it.
It was a fantastic race and a joy to be along for the ride. It could not have been easy handling the sled, concentrating on the race strategy and still having enough reserve to give us the trail cams. Your effort was tremendous and we are all grateful. Way to go! Thanks…
I think everyone's heart was beating a bit faster as we watched the Red Team and their fearless leader, Aliy negotiate the last legs of this year's Iditarod. Knowing how disappointment can and has come towards the end in this ultimate test of musher and dog team, it was thrilling to see the SP Kennel Red Team triumphantly keep their pace in 2012!!! And even to the very last it was "hold on to second" as the third place sled closed fast. But not fast enough to catch the Red Team!!!
My heros!!! Woof!!!
Cheers! Such a awesome job of connecting us with being out there with you on the trail.. Such a inspiration to us all ..
Congratulations on your many 2011-12 racing accomplishments and thanks to all humans and dogs at SP Kennel for providing this "outsider" an exciting racing season!
The DogLog is superb and your internet presence is in a league all it's own. (Please thank everyone involved for me.) You are all such a class act! I eagerly await Aliy's further 40th Iditarod blogs- including, I hope, some more trail notes from Ryan.

Such a fantastic year and now you and Allen and great dogs are featured in MUSHING MAGAZINE,
a deserved summary of this year!

Aliy,
What an excellent interview on the podcast in Mushing Magazine! I really enjoyed hearing your philosophy regarding how you run your kennel, how you regard sponsors, how the Yukon Quest helped prepare dogs for the Iditarod, and especially your analysis of your Iditarod. It helped me understand what I "saw" you do during the race.
I can't wait for your Trail Notes. And thank you again for doing the "Aliy Cam".
