So, I guess this is it for the stars Bullet and ChaCha. Will Teddy run yet again? I know Bullet would do absolutely anything Aliy asked and hard for Aliy to let her go into a different team.
ChaCha is looking forward to a couch and Bullet has a nice End Table crate in her future, I reckon.
Good girls.
Good job, girlies! Enjoy a well-deserved rest. Mushers & support team, enjoy your well-deserved rest, too. It was fantastic following both SPK teams. Thanks for making it possible for us to see, hear, & read so much about your Iditarod 2011 experiences!
ChaCha: "Sleeping on a couch of my own is the whole reason I run all the way to Nome!"
Bullet: "My pointy nose is jammed into the edge of this crate… Do I care?"
Teddy: "It's just like my dog house back home… Of course I have to hang my head out of it!"
Congratulations to ALL the old gals of SP Kennel!
(Congratulations to Allen and the lads, too!)
Thanks for letting us see them "taking it easy." And the three of them look so happy (I'm sure they know they did great).
Would it be possible to find out who was in lead for the Red team this year?
Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all! Here's a Irish blessing that seems appropriate. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand. We're glad you are all safely in Nome. Thanks for the wonderful experience of riding along with you. Tonia and Herb
Ok, I saw all of you getting your post race pics under the arch today (via the cam), are you going to share them with us?
Super sweet photos. The mystery is which couch will ChaCha occupy permanently? Could it be Kaz since Sammy is listed as her sponsor? Perhaps Bridgett will conveniently forget to load her on the plane back home. Or is she destined to become Tig's inside companion at SPK. No matter what, I get the feeling that this fantastic dog has MANY loving options available to her! Certainly Teddy and Bullet do as well.
Thanks for all the great posts during the race, following you guys on the Dog Log during racing season (and year round too) is a real pleasure.
Job well done, Bullet, Cha Cha and Teddy. You are inspiring!
Chacha's thinking —–
How do I get this soft bed in my dog house?
They were heroes, too, with Allen, pulling Karin and team out of trouble, wonderful job! See Fairbanks Daily News Miner for story.
Great job! Cha, Bullet, and Teddy could get anyone to Nome!
Thanks for all your hard work on keeping the blog up to date during the race. The photos and vids were wonderful. The updates really helped me while I used Iditarod Insider to follow Aily,Allen and all the dogs. Living in Florida, I look forward to March each year. It's a special thing that you do, allowing all of us to share the experience with you. My hope is to be there in person some year. My Border Collie, Lily, is very happy that Teddy, Bullet and ChaCha are taking a well deserved rest. They are her role models as she chases her fizbee every afternoon.
Cha Cha is a true princess!
Hi SPKennels, I just read the story on Allen saving Karin's life. You all are so humble not to mention that story yet on your blog first before it hit the news. I want you to know that we were all "watching" Karin's number sitting on the ice via the GPS for hours. People became very worried. We also noticed mushers going by and figured she must be okay if they didn't stop. Every GPS update had people checking in again.
No one stopped to help but you, Allen. I think it is admirable of you to set aside your race to save her life. I'm sure you thought there wasn't any other choice but to stop and help. That is what I admire about you.
Allen, since I've been following spkennels, I see that you and Aliy never hesitate to help a fellow musher. I have so much respect for you. I very am proud to say that I am a fan of SPKennel.
