Congratulations to Aliy for making the cover of Mushing Magazine!
The photo was taken at the Two Rivers Tune Up Race by Alaskan photographer Carol Falcetta. I have no idea what kind of process she used to “colorize” and “art-ize” the photo, but I think you’ll agree it’s pretty cool! Very nice, Carol!
Below, you can recognize the “cast of characters” standing around the starting line just moments before the photo was taken.
Now, a real test for our eagle-eyed Dog Log readers: Can you name the dog in the cover photo? (Trust me, this is a tough one!)
I think it's Boondocks.
Hank or Boondocks?
Is it Hunter?
Amazing! I didn't think you folks even knew who Boondocks is! I don't even have a photo of her!
Who is Boondocks? Please tell!
Yeah, I want to know who Boondocks is, too!
The "country singer" yearlings — last year's puppy litter — are: Boondocks, Bubba, Hank, Lester, Scruggs, Waylon, Willie. They haven't gotten much attention in the Dog Log yet, but stay tuned! You'll get to hear a lot about them in the near future, to be sure!
PS – With parents like Oddball & ChaCha they're bound to be quite a thrill to watch develop!
Is it Kipper?
I think it may be an 'art-ized' Betsy….
I only know the dogs from "The Dogs" and I am pretty sure it is none of them.
Sorry folks, I guess I didn't make it clear… The dog in the cover photo is Boondocks… One of the yearlings who was out for her first "race"… You will have to wait a while until the yearlings start to appear on the Dog Log… But for now, their names are: Boondocks, Bubba, Hank, Lester, Scruggs, Waylon, Willie… Some pretty good looking young dogs, too!
What happened to Reba? I met her last year at the kennel and thought she was from the "country singer" litter.
Sue — Reba, who was indeed one of the yearling litter, was too small and timid to be happy and successful on the SP Kennel racing squad. She has gone to live in a very nice pet home!
