Research week continues apace here at SP Kennel. Today the dogs are having blood work done in which samples are taken over a two hour period to measure insulin sensitivity. For most of the dogs, spending that time “in the box” is pretty fun. It’s warm inside and they get tons of special attention. For a few dogs like young Cutter here, the jury is still out about the experience. As Dr. Mike assured us, “It’s actually a lot harder on the humans who have to sit for two hours at a time — 18 times over — and focus on each dog.”
Despite his own uncertainty, our big, sweet boy Cutter did his best to console Jan and thank her for all the good care!
