You are invited to meet Aliy and Allen on Friday, March 6th at the Aurora Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza in Midtown Anchorage (109 W. International Airport Road) from 4.00-5.30pm.

Aliy and Allen will spend a some time sharing stories from the trail and showing videos; then there will be some time afterwards to personally meet and greet them and some of the crew! We will have a few dogs with us so you can have your picture taken with them also. Plus, everyone through the door is in with a chance to win some great SP Kennel give-aways!

The Crowne Plaza is a sister hotel to our sponsor hotel Comfort Inn Downtown – Ship Creek and we are grateful to both teams for helping organise and hosting this event.

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

All the while the crew is in Anchorage we will be staying at the Comfort Inn Downtown – Ship Creek. Click the logo below to see the special “Friends and Family of SP Kennel” deals!

  • Aurora Ballroom – as in the Northern Lights!!!

I wonder who will get to do this Meet & Greet? If there are only three four-legged teams members chosen, my guess is:

    Quito, Nacho and Chica

Have a super pre-race start build up and super fabulous Iditarods!!!

    Best,

    Margaret

  • Have a Great meet and greet! we appreciate all the extra things you do for us Fans. we imagine it is not easy to be spread so thin at such a crucial time. Thank you, I hope that you all and doggies have fun. You are great mentors and ambassadors for dog mushing and Alaska. Wish I was there with ya!

  • Wow, I will be with Allen, Aliy, the pups, and the crew in spirit!!! Have lots of fun and best of luck on the big race!!!
    Lots of love, ❤️❤️❤️

  • I have what is probably a no-brainer question, if the ceremonial start is in Anchorage and the Sunday race starts in Fairbanks, how will the dogs be transported? With all of the associated gear, people, food, etc. And will this adversely affect the race?

By map it looks like a long difference and I am just trying to learn.

Thank you and good luck to everyone.

  • You can count on your Adirondack SP Kennel Fan Base to be there at the Meet and Greet!! This will be a highlight of our trip for sure! I hope to meet some SPK Dog Loggers there as well!! Looking forward to putting some faces to the names….you all feel like sled dog racing family in a way….it's been a great season thus far!!

With the change in restart to Fairbanks, it is also moved to Monday, 10am March 9th rather than Sunday to give teams more time to travel the distance.

    Nessmuk,
    Have a blast!
I hope you packed some Adirondack weather to take north with you.
Cheer, and represent, for all of us who can't be there "this year."

    A-town, there is spirit.

  • Counting down….nervous for all of you. I know this race is something you know like the back of your hands but with the restart in Fairbanks, it's got to throw a new level of planning into everything. Thank you both, Aily and Allen, for showing us what it means to be the best of the best -and in sharing your stories and your dogs' stories. We are all watching and cheering you on, day after day. The next couple weeks are going to be hard for us – we want you to win – but most of all we want to see you and your dogs safe, living each precious moment with grace and good humor. Go Red and Black teams, go!
