We had a warm day at the kennel earlier in the week, so we did not train the dogs in harness. Instead we put a few dogs on the treadmill – actually the entire 2 year old Golf Litter: Driver, Chipper, Wedgy, Woody, Sandy and Iron. None of these dogs had ever been on the treadmill before. You can imagine what they thought about “the floor moving under their feet”!

So, here is a video of the first time these dogs ever got on a treadmill. Aliy does a bit of “cheering” and most of the dogs get after it!

HERE YOU GO!

  • So fun to see the Golf litter in Action. I used to run my cockers on a treadmill on rainy winter days in Forestville, CA. Thanks SP kennel for all the updates, You Rock!

  • What a hoot!!! They are so brave!!!

So the 4-legged residents of "Club SP" get all the care and comforts of a spa…

And what a concept – the earth moving underfoot whilst running – you never know when that will come in handy! Also, an intro to running up a BIG hill!

I assume the letter grades were determined after reviewing the stats!!!

    Best,

  • The Golf litter will be expert dippers when the snow arrives, especially Chipper. It looks like her tongue is half the length of her tiny legs.

  • That was too cool!! First time on the treadmill….what brave lil pups!! My adult German Shepherds would have refused no doubt…they have no problem dragging me around on skis or mountain bike, but a treadmill with me standing beside them and not behind them….no way! The Alaskan Husky breed is in a class all it's own….I am in awe!

  • The Golf litters is precious and very smart… all of them! They adapted so well to having the ground moving under their feet! How fun! Thank you for sharing!
Are they going to participate in any race this year?
