As part of the “Meet the Dogs” series back in January 2009, this video spotlights Dingle who was entering his first season as a “proper” racing dog. Since then he has gone on to compete in six Iditarods, three Copper Basic 300s, one Yukon Quest 1000 and two YQ300s. He’s also raced in three Sheep Mountain 150s, three Two Rivers 50s and one each of the Denali Doubles, Gin Gin 200 and Aurora 50/50. What a dog!

  • Thanks so much for this early profile of Dingle (I've always loved his stoic, handsome look – a great career and still going the distance!

    A lot of wisdom there!

And I checked my own notes and found…this was also the Iditarod year that, I think, HAPPY ran and finished!!!

    Woof, woof, woof!!!

  • I agree…a great dog with a great career!! What a cute and energetic 2 year old he was!! Lol, I couldn't help but notice Aliy wasn't wearing her trademark SPK Red Beanie…2009 must have been the "pre-Beanie" years! Thanks for sharing…..love these TBT posts!

  • What a wonderful throwback/update. Dingle was such a go-getter as a 2 year old.
Thanks for post. I went through most of the Meet the Dogs last year when I first connected with SPK.

  • Hi Everybody at SP Kennel, Dingle is so handsome and professional and loving, all at the same time! A few years ago, when I 'discover' SP Kennel, I remember that Aliy took him to Nome and, when I saw him next to Quito, I said to myself, those dogs are both so beautiful!!! As a matter of fact, seeing their picture on the Iditarod Insider, made me curious about a kennel that had those dogs! So…. a fan of the SP Kennel was born!!!
Thank you for sharing this video.
