Bet the dogs will be enjoying those steaks!

  • It was a truly phenomenal race! I have witness history in the making and am thrilled. What an exciting and nail-biter finish. And Aliy being the true sportsman she is jumps off her sled to give Dallas a hug! She is a truly classy woman and a champion!

  • Awesome job Aliy and Red Team

    Aliy VS Aliy

    If my math is right…

Aliy 2014 finished the Iditarod in less than 8 days 14 hours!

    and, I believe…

    over 15 hours faster than

    Aliy 2012!!!

    Aliy 2014 is absolutely Superb.

I am so proud of you, and so proud you took care of yourself and your team and got to Nome safely through that storm.

Aliy and her fantastic team could not have been more winners than they are if they had crossed the finish line first.
So very, very happy that the Red Team arrived safely, and that's the most important thing.
What a night!!! Rest is well deserved for all of you.

  • Yay Red Team and Aliy!! You ran your race and that was such an awesome 1000 mile run. You were so right to stop in Safety to rest and regroup. It was a harrowing experience in that wind and fighting for your and the doggies lives. The puppies and you are very important to so many. A well deserved rest and recoup before Allen and the Black team come in. SPKennel rocks the trail!!

  • What a phenomenal race Aliy! You did the right thing in Safety, taking care of your champion teammates. Congrats on your record breaking finish. So relieved you are all safe. Best of luck to Allen as he finishes his run.

  • Dear Aliy,

my son Tilman and his science class here in NJ were following you throughout the race and were really excited that you did that well. A couple of days ago we had no idea about sled dog racing and now we know so much about it. Great. Thanks so much!

  • Really really really great racing Red Team! I'm always so impressed by what the fabulous SPK canines and their musher "parents" can do. Aliy & Quito rock!

  • aliy congratulations! you and your pups did an awesome race considering how tuff or i should say lack of snow there is on the trails and I hope your leg heals quickly.

  • Absolutely amazing, Aliy. I agree with what someone said above. YOU AND YOUR DOGS WON THIS RACE! I think the many, many people on the finish line chanting your name over and over would agree with that. I hope you and the dog team take a big long rest now. You all deserve it!

  • What an amazing race! Congratulations, Aliy and Red Team!! We are so proud of you! Thanks for all of the excitement!

  • Ally I have watched you race since the beginning, You are amazing and I am so proud of the job you have done. Congratulations on an amazing and exciting race.

Thank you for bringing so much to so many!!!

  • Aliy you are such an inspiration! So proud of you and your team, congratulations on the amazing finish!

  • Aliy

We all want you to reach your Iditarod goal. But I hope that you take pride in the every day, ongoing difference that you affect and, probably don't even realize the full extent. People who have never met you, love you and what you exude every day. That with determination and passion you can accomplish great things. For the young women and everyone who adopts this attitude–it is priceless and life changing. just listening to the crowd cheer volume when you arrived shows how much people appreciate you. Those of us who support you and the dogs–we don't care what place you finish because you have already won so much. But we will support your dreams and goals because of who you are and what you stand for. I'm assuming the planning starts now.

Heck if you can help LZi realize he is a big tough sled dog, you can do anything. And look at him go!!

  • Aliy, I am so proud of you and how you ran this race. You are an inspiration to so many. Your hard work and love for your dogs makes you such a great role model. Everyone loves your big, beautiful smile and even though you may be dissapointed, please remember you and the Red Team are hero's to so many.

Looking forward to many more years of exciting racing from SP Kennels.

  • Race well run Aliy..Congratulations on making it to Nome in 2nd! and THATS a big deal! You put your dogs and your safety 1st and for that, your always a winner!! Rest well and rest well Quito and friends because next year is your year!!

  • 2nd place and STILL SMILING ATTA Girl thanks again for another great ride on the Iditarod trail

  • Great job, Aliy! The way you deal with life when it doesn't go your way has been really inspiring to me. We Iditarod fans in Northwest Ohio are SO proud of you!

  • Aliy I am sitting here full of running over emotions and have been since seeing you cross the finish line. I was yelling at Dallas and hoping something would go a rye for him and allow you to capture those 2 minutes and then add a few more to push you over the line. I am wiping my eye for I did so want you to take the winner place. Aliy you did take a very special place you finished within 2 minutes of the lead after 975 miles of grueling trail challenges and all you went through. YOU ARE & WILL ALWAYS BE A CHAMP! thank You for such a great race, you made it special. i sure would like to meet you some day. Get so well deserved rest along with the Red Team. Treat yourself to something special for you are special to all of us. Congratulations CHAMP! Welcome to Nome. Ron in AZ ragodfrey@yahoo.com

  • Congratulations!! We were all rooting for you all the way – what a race!! Thank you for keeping us informed and allowing us to be armchair mushers for this event. What diligence it had to take to get through that storm – very impressed.

  • Alaska – where men are men and women are awesome! Congratulations on a fantastic race by an outstanding gal and her adorable team! And a big hug to Dee Dee – will wait for next year, girl! From a 60+er who follows the race from snow-overfilled Chicago. Next year we'll send it all to Alaska to help with the Burn.

  • Aliy – You are truly an inspiration to all of us! The teams dedication and perseverance and your compassion for the team and for the race are amazing. An absolutely fantastic run this year as always!

  • Congrat's Aliy and the Red Team!!! You guys ROCK!!! At the beginning I prayed for you to win–then as the race went on and the drama of injuries and broken sleds unfolded–I prayed for your safety. This has been such an unforseeable race and you perservered to the end!

  • Aliy congratulations to you and your team of superb athletes. From a Husky owner in Richmond,VA. It's been an inspirational thriller to follow your quest over the last week via the Iditarod app and your website posts. What a run of strength, heart and courage! Kodiaktopdog@verizon.net

  • What struck me, was when Aliy said that it was "life and death mushing" because that was what I was thinking. When I read about Jeff King, I KNEW that Aliy would stop in Safety and protect her dogs…she always does what is right for her dogs and that is what makes her a superstar!!!
This year was an incredibly hard year for the Ididtarod, and I think that anyone who even finishes this race should have Champion after their name!
Aliy, your fans are so proud of you and the herculean effort you gave to this race…you put it all out there, and finished with that huge smile and Pride for everything you accomplished…A Champion in everyone's books, and my IDOL!!!

  • You and your team ran an amazing race!!! Stellar in every way. Thank you for the care and dedication you give to your dogs. Look forward to the next one!
    Amazed by your accomplishments!

  • Great Run!!! You are still the best.
I have watched your career from the beginning, and you just keep on getting better. I will continue to follow you for as long as I can, and look forward to seeing you first under the arch.
    Best to you and yours,
