  • God Bless you Aliy!! I hope you and Allen take a vacation somewhere warm to chill, relax and heal. How about Hawaii?

  • Good to see you are resting and recovering Aily! We have followed you in my classroom for years and, thanks to you, Uncle Toby and my colleague Colleen, your picture, wonderful letter and dog cards are proudly on display each year, inspiring a new group of students to make their dreams a reality. We watch your videos over and over and it drives our reading, writing and math studies. Can't thank you enough. With congratulations for an incredible run for both you and your team, and in gratitude that you are on the mend… – Mary Beth McD.

  • Awesome Job!!! You are quite the inspiration to everyone, but especially to women and girls. My daughter Jacie asked me to ask you a question. "Why don't you wear a balacalava so your face doesn't get so cold or frostbitten?"

She was actually asking of all mushers, but wanted me to ask you specifically.

  • Thanks Aliy and Mick. Aliy you look so much better since your post race interview. Glad Allen and the Black Team are in and safe as well. All the best!

  • From my athletic trainer friend (and Brenda's old softball teammate!)–heat and gentle stretches for that hamstring. Be well!

PS our best to Doug and Mickey as well–such wonderful people! Hope to meet all of you again some day!

  • Aliy, thanks so much for doing this interview with Mickey! We would hear bits and pieces from Iditarod.com regarding the bumps and bruises you were absorbing, so it's nice to SEE and HEAR you tell us you are ok and will heal with a lil TLC. Speedy recoveries Aliy….you are one tough Musher and make us all proud to be SPK fans!

  • Take care of yourself. Aliy. There is only one Alyi Zirkle in the world, and that is you 🌞

  • Heal quickly and completely Aliy.
An icy creek in the gorge that left your right leg frozen, a hole going in to Kuyuk, a tumble or bump, while your body was already numb from the high winds at the blow hole…any number of reasons for that right foot…
We heard that you had trouble with your leg before Koyuk, but you kept going like the champion you are. It is just incredible how well you raced, like someone in top form, without injuries. It is clear that your training and conditioning paid off this year. You are impressive,
    Aliy 2014 SUPERB.
It is clear, you are no whiner, but a
    WINNER.

  • Prayers to all of you in Nome! What an inspiration you are to everyone. Can't imagine doing any of this so I applaud your dedication to your dog teams and the sport. Forever a fan of SPK.
You DO deserve a nice quiet vacation for some R & R.
Congratulations again to the great Huskies, their leaders and the whole crew of SPK.
I am hooked and will continue to follow the many adventures of Aliy and Allen and their wonderful 4 legged children!!

  • Wishing you a speedy recovery. You & Allen were great out there and you both had some terrific teammates. Special hug for Tug!!

  • You are looking pretty good for a long journey on the ice in the wind. We think maybe 80%. LOL

  • Lauri from California-

Thank you!! It was an incredible race under historically bad conditions. You mushers are tough!! I had heard the trail conditions were bad, but hearing your injuries made me realize just how tough & bad it was. What a great example you set & an inspiration. We are so proud to be SP Kennel fans. Your dogs are incredible & under such conditions!!! The bond & trust you share with the dogs shows. When you asked them to go in that they wind, they did!! Nobody sat down & quit on you. I watched via the Insider over the internet both of your finishes. Worth the lack of sleep. I agree with someone else's comment that Quito should get the Golden Harness award!!

  • Aliy at 75% is a heck of a lot more capable than other people at 100%! Plus you always have the dogs to help boost your percentage too with their phenomenal capabilities. Always amazed by everything Aliy, Allen and the dogs can accomplish. Great racing season, proud to be a fan.

  • Aliy, I am SO proud of you! And although it must be a kick in the pants to miss 1st by just minutes again I am still laughing at your exhausted comment in the interview 'well atleast I didn't scratch!' That was priceless! Cripes your NH friends complain on days like yesterday when we had 0-15 degree days with winds blowing snow around. And you mush right through a dangerous all out blizzard with 50mph winds! You go girl! You are amazing! Go rest and heal my friend. I hope to see you next visit back to balmy NH!
