  • Thank you for the updates and videos! We've enjoyed watching your teams this year and will continue from here on out. Any chance you will start allowing comments on your fb page for those of us who follow you? It would be nice to join the conversation sometimes. Congrats Aliy and Allen and all the doggies. We can't wait until next year!

  • Yay!!!! Congrats to Allen and the Black Team!!!! Mission accomplished–those dawg's had a good introduction to the trail for sure!!! Glad all are safe!

  • Great job!!!! loved seeing Aliy there waiting for you…..and bringing 12 dogs in wonderful!!!

  • IN RESPONSE TO ANOTHER POSTER:

Banquet is March 16, according to the press release sent out when Aliy wond the award from the Bristol Bay Fish Cooperative in Galena

  • So many congratulations to Allen and all the dogs! Those dogs look great and happy and healthy! Glad to see they were enjoying their steak.

You must be so happy to be all reunited! Great race and God bless you all 📣🎉🐾⭐️✨💥

  • JettieG:

I agree with you. That was a horrible article to anyone who has followed the race this year—my first year and I am hooked!!
Picture was Aliy loving her dogs as usual.
To Aliy, Allen and the entire crew of AWESOME DOGS! You rock!
Congratulations to you all and so glad you are together again.
I look forward to following the continued adventures of SPK.

  • That was a great video….it shows a totally different perspective than the Iditarod.com video…it's more SPK family like!! I wish I could have been there to cheer the Team in…we were cheering from here in the Adirondacks!! I am so proud of this Black Team….you all did so well! Congrats!!

  • What a lovely video! I finally get to hear what the siren sounds like. The excitement of seeing a headlamp. The thrill of entering the chute after a long race. The happy, happy dogs. The frost on everyone's fur and hair. The loving family reunion. And snacks! I just love what this video says without any words. You two are an awesome couple. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video. Its great to see Allen and the team crossing the finish line and we love the close-up of our favorite pup, Rambler!! Its so sweet to see Aliy waiting for them too!

  • AP News can't tell one red jacket from another.
My Dallas' hair has gotten long?
His dogs sure do look like Aliy's champion team.

LOL, error; however, they really did get a picture of the champion in the article, just not Dallas.

    It's not the worst.
The worst in my opinion was Joe Runyon calling Aliy Sorlie instead of Zirkle, when Aliy took off after Dallas from Safety.

  • Everyone on this website has expressed it all !!! Congrats again from New Mexico – julia.

  • Lester, Outlaw and Viper looking around, so cute, excited to hear familiar voices, and searching for the faces.
Bonita with the biggest grin on her face that says I know where we are, we're with family.
    The entire team looks fantastic.
Allen is so impressive to get 12 dogs, including youngsters, all the way to Nome in a year when 19 (so far) teams scratched because the conditions were so brutal.

Allen and Aliy you have proven that dog number 17 is no weak link at SPK.

Take care of yourselves. Those dogs would not survive without your wisdom under difficult circumstances. I don't know how you can do it with so little sleep.

  • Thanks so much for sharing the video. Great welcome for Allen & team. Fantastic dogs, enjoying their steaks. Glad all of SPK is home safe. What a fabulous job both Aliy & Allen & teams did in this challenging race!

  • So sweet – the dogs are beautiful, heathly and happy. Not to mention the humans!

  • Dogs looked great, Allen great job! So sweet to see the two of you great each other and both know what you have been through.

The pups looked wonderful and have learned a lot as well.

    Have a great night relaxing!

    Best, Trish McAleer

  • Proud to be a Black Team sponsor! Good job Allen and pups! I'm glad you avoided the hurricane winds of Monday. Rest up and we will see you again next year.

  • Thanks again for the unbelievable coverage at the SP Kennel website of this unbelievable race. And thank you Mickey for sharing your daughter's success with all of us – so touching.

IF YOU HAVEN'T HAD ENOUGH DEPT:

I'll be calling my cable provider back here in southwestern CT to add a "sports & entertainment pak" at $8.95 per month added to our existing plan to be able to view the "Iditarod Unleashed" beginning on Tuesday March 25th!

    Woof, woof, woof!!!

  • So good to see Allen in to Nome and safe with all the pups looking GREAT!

It was also wonderful to see Allen and Aliy reunited….it was a tough run for Aliy and she'll need Allen's love and friendship….after a good rest for Allen and a steak of course. 🙂

    Welcome home to Nome Allen!
