While I was over at the dog camp I asked Aliy and Dr Mike Davis about the reasons for the stretch out, massage and foot ointment they were giving each dog.
Aliy was working on Boondocks and Dr Mike was walking Scout.

Did you notice that Aliy is working with liquid on the dogs using her bare hands at -30 degrees?… Yikes!
Dr. Mike Davis is a physiology researcher at Oklahoma State University… He is a very good friend of SPK and often uses the dogs in his various research studies… He also regularly serves as a trail vet during the YQ and Iditarod races… If you search the DogLog for "Mike Davis" (in the upper left hand search box) you'll find a number of posts about his involvement with SPK… He's a great guy to have on your team!
