We decided to pack up our “camp” and move from Carmacks to Braeburn Lodge to await Allen and Brent’s arrival. Thanks to the team at Carmacks for your hospitality!

There is not much to report right now; we are watching the trackers just like you and speculating on what is happening and what might happen. We’ll try to catch some rest and recharge ready for the last leg of what is turning into an epic battle between these two men and their dogs.

L-R: The legendary and oft’ photographed Braeburn Lodge Cinnamon Rolls; two of the Lodge dogs.

We’re really happy that Chemo is with us now – we picked him up from Pelly having received great care and attention from Dawson with Cody’s handlers Meghan and Thomas (THANK YOU!). He’s certainly got an appetite and polished off a large meal and is now very comfortable in the truck sleeping off his journey. Thanks also to the vet team for their care.

I’ll post again when something worth posting about happens! In the meantime: refresh, refresh, refresh…

  • Thanks for the update on Chemo….We've been sending healing thoughts to our boy for sure! A big Thanks also to Meghan, Thomas and the Vets for taking care of him! It's 4:22 am here…might as well put the coffee on….can ya pass me one of those cinnamon buns please? Looks like a great checkpoint to hunker down in! Refresh, refresh, refresh!

  • watching very. step of the way! Continued good luck!!

Do you all have any predictions of a rime-range of the finish? I don't want to miss it. Allso with the race a few weeks ago it was carried on a local Alaska station that we could get online. Anything like that with the YQ?

  • How can those two dogs sleep, don't they know there's a race going on?!? Glad Chemo is back with his team and thanks "Cody crew" for the care you gave him. Enjoy the famous cinnamon buns! Go Black Team!

  • I went to work last night with Allen and Brent taking turns in front, within feet of each other. I came home this morning and Amazing Allen and his team are blazing into Braeburn with a 12 mile lead over Brent. What a great spot to be in with an 8 hour rest in store!
Woohooo! Go Black! Rest, Eat, Recharge, can't wait to see what's next! SPK all the way!
