Here’s the video of Allen and the BLACK team, Aliy and the RED team and Meghan and the RED AND BLACK team starting the CB300.

Those of you with eagle-eyes will see that Aliy has a different harness and line system to our normal. We’ll just say for now that it is a “forced evaluation of a different harness system” – it’s another story for another time but we do need to thank Amanda Gecas, Kristin Knight Pace, Christine Roalofs, Ray Reddington Jnr and Brent Sass for helping us get the team to the start line.

  • Now I'm really intrigued. I know Aliy well enough to know that there is NO power on earth capable of "forcing" her to do anything she doesn't already want to do.

Please don't make me wait until Tuesday to learn the details of the "forced evaluation of a different harness system".

  • What a great start for all three teams. All the dogs were so excited to get racing. I am also intrigued to rear about Aliy's "forced evaluation". Please don't keep us waiting too long.

  • That explains why there was some discussion on the CB300 Facebook page about whether a picture labeled as Aliy, was or was not Aliy. Most in disagreement, including Ryne, pointed out wrong harness and line system. I'm sure whatever the circumstance it added some unwelcome stress to the start for the Red Team. Glad folks stepped up to help out. Thanks to Amanda, Kristin, Christine, Ray and Brent – class all the way!

  • I want to guess: missing harnesses and line! thanks to the other mushers with extra equipment to loan! Sportsmanship for sure!
