After working the “night shift” out on the trail, the teams are all resting at Meiers Lake. In this photo from Moira via iPhone, you can see Aliy’s team nicely tucked in. Sweet dreams!

Now’s the time for you to start speculating about how long each of the teams will rest!

  • They look so peaceful. I hope Aliy, Allen, and Meghan all rested well too.
It looks like A and A left soon after this post, taking 6 1/2 hrs vs just the 6 even, which would have put them out in a traffic jam.

  • Thanks for the adorable picture of the Red Team catching some sleep! They are so cute tucked into their straw mattresses!

"The CB300 will be a 300 mile race with a total of eighteen (18) hours of layovers (plus start differential). Layovers are composed of one mandatory and a time accumulation (details follow).

One (1) mandatory layover of six (6) hours plus start differential at any checkpoint.
An additional accumulation of twelve (12) hours at any of the checkpoints. IN 30 MINUTE INCREMENTS.

  • Thank you, Moira, for taking the time to take videos and pictures, and to communicate w/ the home staff what is going on. It makes following this race so much more interesting.
Thank you, Mac, for your analyses of the race. It was very helpful, although I still don't think I can do this on my own w/o your help!
    Rooting for SPK from California…

  • Now that is a pile of pups! I can only compute when they are running….guess I understand the Run and not the Rest side of the equation…but Magellan will explain soon enough(I hope!). For now, REST…so later on you can RUN!
