On Saturday night the “Bunny Boots and Bids” fundraiser was held in Fairbanks to raise funds for the 2014 Yukon Quest. There were loads of fantastic silent auction items to be bid on and and the out-cry auction raised some big money! Would you believe a $300 cheesecake? (Reportedly the best cheesecake in the world!!)

There were several mushers serving hors d’oeuvres in their tuxedo best and our very own Allen Moore decided this was the year!

It was a great night for a great cause!

Do you remember the 2013 Yukon Quest?
If not… this should bring back some memories:

P.S. Last year's video of YK win was awesome then and even better now!!!

  • What is it about watching this video that makes me cry? Something about seeing my team and musher on the trail .. and it awakes such a deep, deep longing in me, something very basic to what it is to be human relying on our dogs for all that they give us, maybe. Or maybe just the longing to be out there with them and relegated to watching from the side lines.

  • What a spiffy couple, the hat is the finishing touch… you look great, you ARE great!! 🙂

  • I teared up too – I guess we all were watching the magnificent video tale as it unfolded, and also remembered this great summary. M&M did such great work!!!

Even now, I am so proud of Poquita leading solo, and accepting her special prize at the YK banquet with Aliy looking on admiringly…

Thanks so much for this report!!!

  • The video gave me a smile, goose bumps, and yes I even teared up a bit….happy tears of course!! Allen and the Team worked hard for that win and it was awesome to watch it all unfold…live…..and again in this video! Thanks for sharing and reminding us all how awesome sled dog racing is!! I'm ready for SPKs 2014 race season…bring it on!

  • What a heart-warming video! The relationship between musher and dogs must be so strong and so very unique! God bless you all!
I liked Allen's outfit all dressed up like in the old times…with this signature ball cap! 🙂
