I thought everything from the flow of the writing to the technology used to deliver the story was amazing. Good to see SP in there!!!!
it's interesting to note the difference between the solid, this-is-how-it-is approach that Aliy presents and the words of a published journalist who know how to put a little glitz to it, but he tells it like it is. As I read Aliy's notes, I can forget how really dangerous it is for her to do what she does; she is so sane and capable. But Brian takes time to explain some things that other folks from the Outside don't – like the sheer magnitude of Denali from base to summit and the 3/4 person per square mile (excluding Anchorage) and the remote quality of village life and the dangers of living here.
The dangers of living here are things we DON'T dwell on because it would only highlight how crazy we are to choose this as our home. I enjoyed reading his article a lot – it took me out of my when-will-summer-come blues and reminded me of how lucky I am to be here.
