Right on time, at 11 past midnight, Allen and the Black Team pulled out of White Mountain bound for Nome. We are jumping out of our skin to see them coming down the chute!

Bridgett and Ryne rode snow machines out to White Mountain today and got these great photos and some awesome footage of the team coming in. They said the dogs look great and ate and slept well. Allen is doing a fantastic job to get all those youngsters through, and the more mature ones! And did you notice, even 900 miles in he is STILL ski-poling!

  • Great stuff!!! It's great to see some of the areas. You can't really imagine what the terrain is like until you actually see it. The team looked wonderful coming in!!! Very impressive.

  • What a marvelous report! Super pictures and wow what video!!!

Congratulations, first, to 2-legged and 4-legged Black Team members for their heroic efforts in what must have been a really, really, not-fun-run from Willow all the way to White Mountain…

As one of those who is wont to say "Go team" I would like the 2-legged mushers to know I never mean "go run too fast for your own good." I sincerely think SPK fans only want the team (s) to be happy and healthy, and use the world "go" more like "Onward" and trust that the mushers figured out what speed/rest ratio was best for the team at the particular instant.

  • Great photos and videos, thanks for the post. Chemo has that look like "I know I'm quite the looker and deserve to be photographed, but hey, I'm napping here". Proud of both the SP Kennel mushers and all the dogs!

  • So agree with Margaret. I say "go, go go" all the time with the above intention. I am a huge fan of SPK and love to cheer them on.

  • Thank you so much for these photos…it really helps to put this into perspective !!!

Many blessings to both AWESOME teams ~
