Soon after Aliy crossed the line in Nome she and Mitch Seavey were whisked away to a press conference to tell a few tales and answer some questions. I have pulled out a few snippets from Aliy – even sleep deprived and exhausted she is still gracious, funny and smiling.
The Prizegiving and Banquet is being held tonight and I will bring you some snippets from that as soon as I can.
Amazing, great comments after 1000 miles of every challenge… nice to see the two of you and your mutual respect. And for sure, yea, Quito and crew!

Wow, Aliy! Considering how whipped you look & no doubt were, you are amazingly coherent… & pretty funny, too! "Did I mention the rain?" 😀 You created a vivid image in my mind of the conditions on the Yukon. Congratulations to you & the Red Team ran an outstanding race!
For those of us who can't be in Nome, these snippets are priceless! I can't even begin to imagine how Aliy and Mitch put together coherent sentences after such sleep deprivation. Thanks for sharing this – I saw a small part of it on ADN and was hoping to see more. It's great, but you have my sympathy for being dragged into while hungry, dirty and sleep deprived! Aliy is a terrific ambassador for the sport!
Everything everybody said already above, double that!!! Aliy looked great, sounded great and was particularly eloquent as she described those details she might not remember after the finishing interview (after a good night's SLEEP)!!!
