Unfortunately, at time of writing Allen’s spot tracker hasn’t updated for nearly six hours so we are flying blind! We know he “blew through” Scroggie Creek dog drop at 11.47pm and still has the 12 dogs he left Pelly with. We are setting up the dog camp and trying to estimate what time we might be seeing them today. It will be tricky as the dog camp is over the Yukon River with no internet coverage so we can’t watch the jumping dog from there.

Aliy and Meghan arrived in Dawson in the wee small hours and are currently sleeping. I will talk with Aliy about the dramatic finish of her race and how she’s feeling later so keep an eye out for that. I’m sorry to disappoint you all but I do not have any video of the finish of the YQ300. I was in Dawson, with the camera, watching the internet for the result. I’ll see if I can get Meghan to describe what it was like to watch.

Ryne and the R&Bs pulled into Pelly Crossing at 2.18am and are resting before the final leg; we’re excited to hear more about them.

  • Well, considering that Hugh Neff's team is creeping along – if Allen was not that far behind after a rest, he could be catching up/ passing – but then WHO KNOWS WITH HIS BLINKING SPOT NOT WORKING!

    It's now at 8 hours, 41 minutes of no-news-is-maybe-good-news.

    Arrghh!

  • SP Kennel Crew – I am sorry for any strong language I may have used in describing what I thought at the time (upon reading of the $150 penalty against the first place finisher in YQ300).

  • The GPS trackers are like being in a dysfunctional relationship – one minute they are the greatest boyfriend in the world, the next minute you want to kick them out of the house.

Darn you GPS tracker, why do you toy with us so????

That being said – I am extremely thankful that the YQ provides them for fans – just not right now when it says last update 9 hours, 16 minutes ago. AAARRGHHH!!!

  • I saw that Aily dropped two dogs and Ryne dropped several. Never heard who the last ones were. Can you give us a recap? Thanks, YoLynn

  • Very scary about no updates from Allen. Missing a PAR check is serious stuff in the firefighter business. Hopefully, his unit fell off into the snow without his knowing it.

Here's to expecting that Allen and dogs are all well and happy and maintaining the planned pace. Let's all think the good thoughts!
