At 8:00 AM the Black Team came off of the Yukon River and parked in the Circle Checkpoint. The SP Handler Crew is not there yet. Local Fairbanks dog musher and Yukon Quest veteran, Mike Ellis, was there to greet Allen and parked the team for him. Thanks Mike!

Hugh Neff came in to Circle only three minutes behind Allen.

  • Argggh! I can't stand it. Will Allen shorten his stay there because of the mandatory before or after Eagle? Will he persist in 4 hour stops until after Eagle Summit? Will he shake loose of Neff and Berkowitz?

    Argggh!

  • Smiling for Allen and dogs; whew,
rest a bit? SP Crew, hope you catch him! must be (understatement) frustrating but we know dog sleds can get through 🙂

  • On pins and needles as the YQ FB pages writes "Hugh left… Allen napping…Jake arrives"! In my head I know Allen is running HIS race, but there is that tiny part of me that is like "Don't let him get away!!!". Go Black Team!! Can't wait to see you in Fairbanks.

  • Not that many more checkpoints to the finish, especially since the American Summit is impassable! I'm getting anxious, and I'm not even there!!! Godspeed Allen and pups!!!
