  • CONGRATS to Aliy and the Red Team on a fantastic race. Thanks for taking us all along on the ride with the excellent reporting here!

  • The race has been awesome to watch this year, and I've loved the coverage given by all you guys at SPK. I stayed up past midnight EST to see Aliy's finish, and it was thrilling to see her come under the burled arch! Big congratulations to Aliy's Red Team!! Continued good wishes towards Ryne!!

  • Aliy and all of the super athletes,
I am so proud of you all and feel so lucky to know you and have worked with you over the years. The team looked absolutely fantastic coming into Nome. Heads up, tails up, trotting briskly and smoothly under the burled arch. Just amazing. The monumental effort of finishing so strongly, the obvious excellence of the dog care to bring in a team looking like they did after 900+ miles are a true testament to
Aliy, Allen, Ryne and all of the SP Kennels family's incredible passion and skill in raising, training, conditioning and racing the most wonderful creatures on earth – The Alaskan husky.
Congratulations to you all on this amazing accomplishment.

  • Oh my goodness what a race!!Congratulations to Aliy and the 'old men sitting on the couch' ~ ooops I mean dogs for their spectacular finish!! The smile on Aliy's face when she finished says it all!
And thank you to Wes, Kaz, Mac and everyone else for the timely updates and giving us our SP "fix" when we needed it most.
    Go Ryne!!!
Also Congratulations to both Aliy and Ryne for making the Hottest Mushers of 2012 Iditarod List!!

  • So very proud of the dogs, Aliy and SP Kennels. Way to go! I can hardly wait to hear the stories.

  • Hi! Congrats on your wonderful run in this year's Iditarod!

I am a second grade teacher In Blackfoot, ID. We have been following the Iditarod with our students as part of a unit in our reading curriculum. We gave each student three or four mushers each, and we moved 'dogs' along the route. Jace N is a Zirkle expert, and he and his dad have been following your every move.

Our students have a question about the Iditarod. They wonder what would have happened if you and Dallas came in at the same time, or in other words–completed the race in a tie. I looked at the rules and couldn't find anything that addressed that.

If you get a chance, can you email me at behrk@d55.k12.id.us with an answer. It would mean a lot to the kids.

Thanks and congrats on your great run!

  • Congrats Aliy!! It was great fun watching you race,….even I am sleep deprived,…staying up late (down here in SLC) watching the GPS tracker….it was well worth it!! You and your wonderful dogs made sure Dallas had to work hard to get the truck. Looking forward to next year! Cheers, britt

  • What a great race. Aliy and SPKennel, once again, demonstrate the great love and care given to their dogs during the race. Get some well deserved rest!!

  • Aliy – thank you for your inspiration. I have been posting your progress on FaceBook and have been stunned at how many of my friends here in Daytona Beach, FL have been eagerly reading and waiting for my updates. Pat M.
