Wow! Places 16 & 24 into the 24 hour layover at Takotna. SPK could have two teams in the top 20!
It was very reassuring to hear Allen's calm voice address the break neck speed with which others have hit this trail.
Doug Swingley had some interesting commentary about the field's reactions to the trail on the Alaska Dispatch site – not in agreement with Bruce Lee's thoughts at all – and while I don't agree with all he said, I do agree that pushing teams to the brink this early in the race can't bode well.
I once again feel grateful that I support a kennel that knows dogs (which I am still learning every day) and treats them like the gold they are.
