  • Aliy and SP Kennel dogs made the Happy River Steps look easy…the Idtarod Insider has some scarey footage of mushers flying down them.
Looks like the SP Kennel dogs can show the others how to do it right! What a great group..with a great Leader-Good work Aliy!
    And it is indeed….GORGEOUS!

  • This race never ceases to amaze me. The amount of athletic ability required to run this makes me admire the teams and mushers even more. Thanks for taking me along.

  • Wow! Last year's video scared me, but this year it was a bit calmer – the camera seemed to stay fixed on the sled this year. Loved the edits!

  • Great shot! Reminds me of a Sourdough trip to Arrigetch when we had to detour up, over and down the "hill" the because the river gorge was frozen shut. The thrill of sledding down at an impossible angle and not running over the dogs..memories. The first trip with Aliy, the gorge was open. Keep up with the Aliy cams!

  • Just stay ahead of the sled!!! Great stuff. Thanks SP Kennel for including us on your journeys.

  • OMG! This is better than even the Insider videos! Having seen a collection of crashes, it's great to be taken along for the ride. An earlier Aliycam video was what prompted me to follow SP Kennel in the Iditarod. Having tried this with a mere two dogs and a rig, I appreciate the skill (or insanity) it takes to drive 16 dogs down a fast hill while wielding a camera. I'd love to know how your camera is rigged up. Also note that the commands are done in a very quiet voice. Can't wait to see more! Mush on!

  • just beautiful……and it is wonderful that you had a cam on the sled…thanks, thanks a lot…..

  • Thanks for sharing your perspective. Rooting for you and hoping you're enjoying the race, it always looks like you're having fun! I remember a few years back when you encountered a moose on the trail…hope your trail is smooth and moose-free this year.
