  • I was holding my breath when I saw his SPOT head back down the hill.
Looks like he regrouped the team and made it over the summit.

    WAY TO GO!!!

  • Well, I can't help but repeat myself – they did great. Allen didn't give up on them and now they have the pride of having made it across. I was watching the spot and he was right before the summit and I got worried. Then I read he was making steady progress from another blogger – looked back and he was over!

What a feeling of elation and relief.

And, I would still like to see him beat Kelly for the top 5 … his team is faster after all.

  • Was watching his tracker (zoomed way in) all morning, hoping and hoping that he'd keep inching his way up, 50' at a time. So relieved to see they finally made it over. Who did he have in lead? (I was cheering Biscuit, but thinking probably the job went to someone more experienced?)

  • Wooohoooo team and leader – this is great news and he is at MP101. This is such a great testament to the caliber of dogs, teams and mushers at SP, which we of course already knew was phenomenal.

  • OMG! Heart failure after what happened there last nite! Go Allen!
Go Dingle! Go! Team! Glad everone is over and safe!

  • We were thinking of you and watching your progress with hope for a successful summit. Nice work Allen! Thanks for the all morning distraction from work…

  • Edwin – Eagle Summit is insane. The Quest found the spot which is a literal wall to come over Eagle Summit. A lot of mushers have to use a snow hook to claw their way up the steepest part. Going the opposite direction, teams carry large chains to drag behind them to slow them down. I hope they will show a good photo on the Quest site. Doubt they were able to get a photographer up there this year though.

  • Great news to see him over the summit and resting for the final legs. The tracker is nervewracking since you don't really know what is happening and can only guess. But it is still great. And thanks to Kaz and all the crew that is keeping us up to date.
