Wow that is amazing! I hope the other dog team was ok, that's so scary to lose a dog out there! He told me before the start that if he saw a team in trouble he would for sure stop and help them! That's a great story!
Yet another example of why we like mushing…good sportsmanship!

Nice story. Except that Allen wasn't slow at all from McGrath to Takotna, according to the standings – in fact he was faster than Aliy was!

Unreal! Good job Allen! Does someone knows who the other musher was? And why did he not bring Allen back to his dogs, instead of let him walk?
Was the other musher Justin Savidis? I read that he lost a 3 year-old dog (Whitey) between Nikolai and McGrath. I hope they find the dog soon.
