As we continue down the Yukon, Aliy and the dogs have mushed through the night, chewing up the miles on what must seem like as an endless highway.

This video begins with sunrise and the boost of energy that it always brings after a long, cold, dark night. As the monotonous day of river running continues, almost anything “unusual” is a welcomed diversion, and something “really unusual” gives everyone on the team — human and canine — a treat!

  • Truly a scenic adventure. Reminds me of the time up in ANWR with Aliy when the Ranger landed his airplane on the Sag to check us out. Go figure…Aliy knew the Ranger!

  • Any idea why Aliy is posting such slow times between Elim and White Mountain? I'm not an "Insider" in the race, so I don't know if the 4.91 MPH is accurate of her speed, or if the team pulled over to rest. Go Aliy go!

Oh, and the coverage has been wonderful! The videos that Aliy took are breathtaking.

  • I like how the dogs look back at you when you start talking. They figure out that you are not talking to them, but they can't figure out who you are talking to!

  • Tom, Wasn't the ANWR trip great? My friends and I went with Aliy and Allen last year! Best trip I ever took! Anyway, we had the helicopters land while at Galbraith Lake with the Rangers in it (whom Aliy knew) and then they flew over us to check us out while we were camped on the Sag! Everyone should do that trip at least once!

These videos bring it all back……..
