The scenery was spectacular and the descent to Happy River is very dramatic but it didn't seem as though the team had the slightest problem….likely due to the drivers calm confidence! What a grand adventure on the Happy river Steps…especially 2 and 3- I loved the ride. I am surprised so many photographers were out there too. Now I know I need to take a spring trip with you guys.

I almost couldn't watch it all. I have an inner ear infection, with some vertigo, and watching this on a full screen was almost more than I could manage. Thanks for a front seat view of going down the Steps. Good job, dogs! Thanks. I'll be sure to come back and watch this again when I have a little more equilibrium. 🙂

Love the Aily Cam. Great footage. The Happy Steps is one of those spots on the trail which I've always imagined in my mind's eye and real thing is even better. If I didn't already want to learn to mush this would sure convince me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for showing us the Happy Steps. Last year when I followed the Iditarod and your and Allen's journey for the first time, I had heard about how difficult it was. I wondered what it was about this part of the trail that could easily cause a wipe out.
It was totally AWESOME to get a "ride" going down these Steps. I just know that this video will be referred to over and over as fans talk about and follow the Iditarod race.

Fantastic footage!!! Amazing ride… Now if it is the steep on this side going down, how steep was it on the up side. As a cyclist, I know there is always a hill climb before a decent.

Thank you so much for the Aliy-cam of the Happy River Steps. I understand the steps were easier than previous years but it's still quite the thrill to watch.
I have watched this segment several times am amazed!!! I have to assume (bad word) that the wheel position of the dogs is a very important assignment. Those dogs get pushed and pulled all over the trail! They need to be very agile and able to adjust very quickly without being hurt. Wheel is a very demanding position in rough teraine (sp)!
