Gear isn’t a subject we spend very much time talking about here on the Dog Log, but it is very important — and specialized — for the CB300. In this segment, Allen talks about attributes of mid-distance vs. long-distance sleds, mandatory race gear, musher clothing, etc.
So, here is a completely different aspect of sled dog mushing and racing for you to learn about! (Take notes, because there may be a quiz later!)
I'm afraid we're not going to do very well on the upcoming quiz…we were too engrossed watching Stella make her crop circles! It's too bad you couldn't put her talent to good use ~ my Great Grandparents used to hook their Newfies up to a harness and they would walk in circles to churn butter for the family!
I told you… Stella is so very sweet… But she can also be so annoying!… Great idea about "hooking her up" to be useful… Too bad it would be a disaster!… Somewhere I have a short video of Aliy trying to get Stella to run with a little team… It's so pathetic that it's pretty funny!… I'll see if I can find it and get the boss to let me post it!

Just a random thought, but have Aliy and Allen ever tried tonic water with quinine for the muscle cramping? I know its supposed to help for "charlie horse" type muscle cramps, didn't know if it might help with exercise-induced ones as well.
