The teams are all staying in Glennallen today, to be on hand for the banquet this evening. They will then drive back to the kennel tonight and arrive early morning. I just visited with the dogs and they are all happily snoozing in the trucks. Their agenda for today is pretty simple: sleep, eat, repeat. The human agenda is almost the same: feed dogs, sleep, eat, repeat.

I’m loading up to drive back now. We hear it’s at least -40 in Two rivers, so it makes sense for one of us to get there sooner rather than later to check on things.

Many thanks to all of you for your enthusiasm and interaction during the CB300. It’s been a great race weekend and we are all so happy and honored that you were here with us!

  • Way to go to all of SP Kennel! Thanks for the coverage Macgellan and thanks Allen, Aliy and Bridgett for allowing the video camera into your lives for all of us to follow.

  • Thank you, Macgellan and SP Kennel, for the fantastic race coverage and on-going reports throughout the season! (living the life vicariously in NY)

  • I just finished watching the interview with Allen at the finish on MushingTV. I am so impressed! Allen and Aliy are as authentic as they come. The ability to mix integrity and playfulness is the reason you are both highly respected amongst peers and fans! No wonder the dogs are so awesome!

I was thrilled to hear the young, never raced before, dogs did well too!!

  • Thanks for all the postings during the race – it was so great to "almost be there".

I think it's terrific that Allen brought all 12 dogs across the finish line and chased down Jeff King by just minutes while doing so. Glad Bridgett had a such a great rookie race – maybe she'll be back for more next year.

There's a great picture of Ray and Snickers on the CB300 site. From the photo link, chose Mark Henspeter's photos and it's on the bottom row of the first page of his grouping of 33 shots.

Hope the trip back to Two Rivers was uneventful for you and that it will be likewise later tonight when the rest of the team drives back.

Looking forward to whatever else you have to post as a wrap-up to the race!
