To “officially” wrap-up the 2008-2009 season, here is a nice photo from Nome of Aliy, Allen and Bridgett with the main Iditarod Lead dogs: Bullet (hiding as always on the far left), Dingle, ChaCha and Hoss.

I think you will agree it has been an amazing season, and congratulations to everyone — including you! — for making it through!

Aliy, Allen and most of the dogs are now in the ANWR, enjoying their post-season mushing adventures. I will be joining them next week, and intend to shoot a ton of footage. I imagine it will make for some great videos, and you can look forward to seeing them later in the month.

So, as we always say, stay tuned!

  • Thank you so much for all of the time you have spent on your posts on the kennel’s webpage. Last year my students and I started following the Iditarod. I took the same group of kids from 2nd to 3rd grade again, so we were able to dig much deeper into the Iditarod this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed your blogs. We are huge fans of Happy and Manny. In fact, when they reach their goals-they are now choosing to celebrate by watching the Manny and Moonshine show!! I can proudly say that I can now find Manny in a crowd by his sound! Even in archived Iditarod videos!! Thanks again!!

  • What a great job, all of the SPKennel team! Special hugs to Bullet!! The blog is wonderful, loved Doug’s Eagle Island.

  • Is that Allen who is shown at the beginning of the current video on the homepage of the Iditarod.com website? It’s just a few seconds into the video. Go Allen! Go B-team! Go SP Kennels!
