It looks like Aliy shot a ton of fantastic video out there on the Iditarod Trail. It’s going to take me quite a while to sort and edit it all, so we should have some great viewing ahead of us in our upcoming days of Post-Iditarod decompression. Meanwhile, I wanted to share something with you right away.

In this video, Aliy and her team are completing their climb of a big, long hill to overlook Golovin Bay and see White Mountain in the distance.

  • Aliy,
That is some great footage! I want you and Allen to know that there are a lot pf people rooting for you. When I get up in the middle of the night to write I wonder where you guys are on that long winding trail and how wonderful and tiring it must be.
Our hearts are there on the trail. Bring it on home to Nome, our hearts will be there also…

  • Wow! It is really amazing that Aliy did this through the whole race! She sounds so nonchalant about almost being finished with a 1000 mile race, and I love that she is praising her dogs throughout the clip. I look forward to seeing the rest of her footage. This video made my afternoon 🙂

  • Just fabulous. The technology has improved the excitement of watching the Iditarod from around the world. Do you have payment plans with PayPal to sponsor a dog? I would be interested in that.

  • It’s fantastic to get a mushers-eye view of the trail with those hard-working dogs motoring along with their tails wagging.

Congrats to Aliy and Allen for taking such good care of their teams. Can’t wait to read the updates when you reach the finish line!

  • Aliy and Allen, This is just incredible that you would share it with all of us. You are doing a great service for the sport and are an excellent example and inspiration! Look forward to seeing more.

    A heartfelt thanks!

  • Great Video. Glad you are safe in Nome, and can get some rest. Good job. Will be watching next year, unless I decide to go to Nome, then I will see you when you win.
