  • What an awesome video. So much better than my connection even with a mobile hotspot link to my laptop so I could see the team come across. Glad to read of everyone else getting choked up. Me too!

Thanks so much for all the updates and photos.

The team looked great. Hungry with tails wagging.

Such an accomplishment. Now Go Allen Go

  • Beautiful video! Thank you for posting and adding the siren (I think). I don't remember the siren on the live feed and I was watching carefully.

All of you did a fantastic job getting things organized for the race, training, providing support, and providing such amazing coverage for us fans. Thank you, to all who contributed to make this such an exciting race.

I'm so proud of Aliy and her team!

  • This is great! Yeay Red Team! Love the dog in the crate nest eating his supper. Hope to see you on the trail next year. Still hoping for a win too!

  • Congrats to the Red Team!!! I was so excited when I heard about the news of you guys crossing the Burled Arch. And in 8th place!? That's quite an accomplishment! Keep up the stupendous performance, Red Team! Once again, congratulations!!!

  • Fantastic video. Love how Aliy loves on each dog. She is the best musher in the world.
I wish some one would win that has all their dogs on the line run the entire 1000 miles. The Iditarod is make this great race a joke allowing some mushers to carry 2-4 dogs resting them. I thought not allowing dogs to be carried in the trailers would have stopped that practice this year. Then a sled is built that has dog boxes built in to carry dogs. What a travesty!

  • Aliy – you are the ultimate professional! Congratulations to you and the entire Red Team for sharing your experience with your many fans. I am proud to say I know you, Allen, Kaz, Mickey and Doug. You are an amazing family!

  • Such awesome dogs trotting into Nome. Looks like Driver prefers to eat in bed. Love seeing them enjoy a meal after their hard work.

Ditto on what JoAnne said about making the fans feel involved. It's a lot of work for you all and it is very much appreciated. Go Allen & Black team! More awesome dogs arriving in Nome today.

  • Congratulations…great video…wish I was there to hug those special huskies. Rest up girl and feel very proud.Thank you for the joy of following you on this great journey.

  • Congratulations, Aliy. You continue to bring much excitement to our days this time of year. Another top ten finish is awesome so many times in a row. Lead on.

  • There are not enough words to say how proud I am of Aliy and this team. In spite of sick dogs, a trail she really didn't want to face again, and media constantly focusing on her not running the race she wanted to run, she managed to finish in 8th place with a GREAT time. If anyone doubts this, look at the race archives winning times. And to know that she accomplished that without hauling dogs is just icing on the cake. I understand that all things change and in order to remain at the top someday she and Allen may decide they need to haul dogs, also, but for now …. Way to go Aliy! You are truly a champion in the eyes of all your fans. Thanks to all the SP Kennel crew for your time and effort. It couldn't be done without you and we fans appreciate it.

  • DITTO TO EVERY ONE OF THESE COMMENTS!!!

Note: Peg's suggestion could be a winner – think of it as micro-apartments but for dogs! Complete with design for views of the trail…

  • Congratulations Aliy! You and the dogs looked great at the finish line; you are definitely a champion! Wishing you and your dogs some high quality relaxation and recovery time, super food – then playtime!

  • I am not sure how I missed this on the regular blog page, but thank you so much for posting the video. The live feed is fun, but it's impossible to see the dogs once past the arch and appreciate them one by one.

I am just so happy that the dogs did well and Aliy did well and that she still loves this race.

  • Just love your devotion and love to the dogs, so many just use them, you show pure love. Blessings on a great finish from canada

  • Always so happy when you reach Nome! So proud of you, Allen and the wonderful team you have built!! Would loved to have been there this year, came down with a crazy bug that had me in bed for Iditarod week – ugh! Excited to read trail notes when you have time to write. Thrilled for your great finish despite the dogs getting a bug. Dogs first! SP Kennel all the way!! Yeah Team!!
