Woohoo! The Black Team has passed through Safety checkpoint they and are zipping along at 9.8 miles an hour. Next up is the climb over Cape Nome then the last run along the shoreline to Nome.

We’re so excited to see everyone!

It may be a while before I can get anything up on the blog as we need to see to the dogs before coming back to the house, so keep an eye on our Instagram or Facebook as I might be able to post a few pictures directly there.

  • Love me some Champ! One of my fan dogs. Not to leave out Mismo, Love you too buddy.

Always tend to the dogs first, don't worry about us. You have very important things to take care of first.

I think I am already having withdrawal knowing that the season is almost over.

  • Woohoo, Allen through Safety with 14 dogs!
Less than 2 hours to go.
Way to go Allen and team!

  • 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🖤🖤🖤🖤cheering from 🇦🇺

  • It was very thoughtful of Allen (Aliy too) to have planned his arrival in Nome to occur during the civilized afternoon! Ha Ha! I'm joking of course, but on the other hand the sunshine will be nice for photo taking & videos etc. It was darn pretty when Aliy reached the arch and hopefully it will be an equally pretty day when Allen gets there. I look forward to watching via the insider.

It's so great that he's bringing 14 furry athletes to the finish with him. Also kudos for moving up a bit in the placement to his expected 39th place finish.

I'm always happy and proud to see my favorite mushers, from my favorite kennel cross the finish line. It's guaranteed that they will have happy dogs and smiles on their own faces. Also, let's face it, Allen is always good for a funny story or two which is good for a chuckle from us fans.

    Go Black! Go Dogs!

  • Oh this is marvelous! I love this! Go Allen and Black Team. Can't wait to see them headed for the burled arch. What a great showing for SPK. Thank you for updating us, dog log 2 leggeds 🙂

  • I loved the live announcers quip when she said Allen was telling the dogs how good they were and then said, "Looks like Aliy and Allen telling each other how good they are, I'm thinking." I could just see the happy reunion through the live feed.

So, I wondered about Jodi "racing" Allen into WM when I saw that she did not go on after her 8 hour. I gather she was the team towed? Wow – if they were towing a team, they were unbelievably fast into WM. I am VERY interested to hear that story.

Sometimes I feel more emotional when Allen comes in than Aliy; they are all in safe, you know? and I am just so grateful for the dog care ethic of SPK, especially considering the mortality numbers of this race.

Good vibes to all and good rest.

  • Champ you are the look out, team mates coming! Go Allen. SPK is best in the world.
