Braeburn Lodge is hopping! The car park is filling up fast and seats inside the Lodge are in short supply. It seems the close, exciting race, a cast of interesting characters and a beautiful day has brought a heap of people out to watch the action.

I don’t know what to say right now. If you are watching the tracker you can see what I can see. Brent and Allen are close together around 15 miles behind Hugh. Matt is just 10 miles behind them. It’s warm and sunny and exciting and nerve wracking and thrilling and… let me know what else in the comments below.

  • Cold and frosty and exciting here in CT. Wish I could send you our below 0 temps to keep the pups cool. I keep doing math and thinking that they may be running during the heat of the day tomorrow, depending when they get in to Braeburn. Send cool wishes your way! Bring it home SPK pups and Allen!

  • I just want to say what a great effort Allen and all the Sp kennel crew have been doing to have 13 healthy happy dogs this far in to the race and so competive for a "rebuilding" Black Team . Denali and l are proud to be fans of SP kennels and l have the day off work so l can keep an eye on the the tracker and a finger on the refresh button ! Sending heaps of encouragement from Melbourne Australia for the finishing stages ! 🇦🇺

  • Here in NE Minnesota – GO BLACK TEAM GO!!! My goodness what a race. Refreshing and refreshing and the race is just too close, too close. It's going to go down to the wire…AGAIN! The fact that the Black Team has some young dogs who have never run the Quest before and they're doing this well? AMAZING. Good job for all of the mushers and dogs who are flying over this 1000 miles. Whoever ends up finishing 1st, 2nd 3rd – this is a fantastic finish to a fantastic race. Thanks for the updates. Thanks for keeping all of us informed. Everyone start sending speedy thoughts out to the Black Team! GO SP Kennel!

  • Woohoo, I’m so excited to see the Black Team is into Braeburn.
I can work tonight knowing all 14 members, on the trail, made it safely.

I’ll check in tomorrow morning asap, to see how the final leg is going and who is “going all the way,” with Allen.
Woooop woooop, get some much deserved rest all you pups and Allen.
    🙂

  • I'm wearing my Black Team beanie as I cheer the team on! It looks like it will be a very close race for 2nd place. Allen is doing such a great job with a bunch of YQ rookies. We are all very impressed with them. Get a good night sleep, so everyone is ready for the sprint to the finish tomorrow. It is an exciting race with lots of ups and downs in emotions! Cheering the team on from Washington state.
